What I would like to see in Biblical reference material is a comprehensive encyclopedia of life application study questions that can be used in Bible studies.
I typically use IVP's Bible study series, Barnes' Notes, Wesley's Notes, Barclay, and some of the word meaning commentaries (titles elude me at the moment).
I have some suggestions on this and will post about it tomorrow or Friday.
John, I hope there's never such a reference work. We need to apply the Bible to new contexts all the time. If we try to get a comprehensive list of application questions before the fact, it doesn't allow us freedom to think about our own context and how the Bible speaks into it. It would be find to have some resources that help us think about ways we can bridge to our own context, and it's helpful to hear how people are transferring principles to their own context, but we have to do the hard work on our own to see how it will apply in our own case.
That's true, Jeremy, but there are some decent sources of study questions that can be of use for discovering the text and also after the fact.

I used to start my prep on Tuesday and do the heart of my work on Weds and Thurs. But I've moved it back to Monday and am glad.
Actually, I have less of an excuse, since I am preparing adult Sunday school lessons, which take less time.
Full time job + billion tasks at church keep me very busy.
But judging from my pastor, and others that I have met, I suspect that once I reach full ordination, I will be granted the superpower Go Without Sleep Indefinately. That will help very much.
Actually you get your choice of super powers or the skills of a professional wrestler. Most of us opt for super powers, but at some point we wish we had made the other choice.
